Digitally Uploaded #7: The Aussie games edition!

This week, we have special guest host, Nicole Stark, who joins us from Aussie developer, Disparity Games. Stark's key game to date is Ninja Pizza Girl, a superb speedrun platformer that landed on PC last year, and is coming to console soon enough. 

With Chris taking a break, Alan and I took the opportunity to do an episode of the podcast dedicated purely to Australian games; from the earliest of games through to the many indie hits that we have now, Australia has for a very long time been one of the best regarded markets in the world for development... and it's only going bigger and better places from here.

Digitally Uploaded #6: We talk Doom, Lost Reavers, and chat with Mediatonic's Luke Borrett

Borrett's the guy that worked on localising for console the Hatoful Boyfriend visual novels... i.e. the infamous pigeon dating simulators. We also talk about Foul Play, Mediatonic's brilliant brawler that has a distinctly theatrical edge. 

The whole team also chatted about two new betas that landed last week; Doom, which Matt really didn't enjoy much, and Lost Reavers, which he did.

Digitally Uploaded #4: We talk about Final Fantasy XV. A lot!

Welcome to the fourth episode of the Digitally Uploaded podcast, companion podcast to the www.digitallydownloaded.net website.

We have a singular focus this week; we're here to talk about Final Fantasy XV. As most of you would be aware, there was a massive reveal event last week where Square Enix passed on a lot of details about its upcoming mega-game that we simply didn't know about. Oh, and there was also a new demo released.

So this week, Chris, Alan and Matt talk about Final Fantasy XV. What we liked about it, what we are still unsure about, and where we could see things going a little wrong.

Digitally Uploaded #3: It's all about the narrative

Welcome to the third episode of the Digitally Uploaded podcast, companion podcast to the www.digitallydownloaded.net website.

This week, Matt, Alan and Chris discuss narrative. From what we like to see in a game narrative, through to some games that we want to highlight as narratives we like in particular, and we enter into that highly contentious debate about whether narrative-focused games such as "walking simulators" and "visual novels" are games or not.

Digitally Uploaded #2: JRPGs and an almighty argument over Final Fantasy XII

Welcome to the new episode of Digitally Uploaded, the podcast companion to www.digitallydownloaded.net.

This week we talk about a topic passionate to us all - JRPGs (and that's why this podcast runs far longer than typical). Chris, Alan and Matt talk about their favourite JRPG - games that are important to them, and games that they can play over and over again without ever getting tired of them. 

We also celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Final Fantasy XII (and have a good old argument over whether it's a great game or not), and look at PlayStation VR, now that we know it's cost and release month.

Welcome to the first official episode of the DigitallyDownloaded.net podcast: Digitally Uploaded! 

This week we have a special look at our favourite female game characters and game developers. With International Women's Day being last week, we felt it was a good time to take a look at some of our favourite female characters and developers. There's a lot of women out there doing awesome things in the industry and they just don't get enough credit for what they do. And there are some really good female characters that really deserve to be highlights in an industry often assumed to be all about the men.
