Let's talk about 2017 and terrible theme park games (Digitally Uploaded 2017, Episode #1)

Welcome to the very first podcast for a year that is going to be seriously intense in terms of games.

Usually January is a time where game developers and publishers take a bit of a break, but oh no, not this year. This year there's going to be an endless stream of quality games from the start. This month along we've got a new Miku game, Yakuza, Kingdom Hears, Tales, Resident Evil, and Atelier Shallie on the PlayStation Vita. Oh, and a little something called Gravity Rush 2.

Come listen as we chat about the games of 2017 that we're looking forward to (and already playing), and then we take a little trip into the simulation genre to love RollerCoaster Tycoon, and cry a little over Rollercoaster Dreams, the first 0.5/5 review of the year.

Digitally Uploaded: Christmas and New Year Special

Welcome to the end of the year! We hope you've all had a lovely Christmas, and have some awesome New Year's parties lined up.

Digitally Uploaded #18: Goichi Suda and fanservice

This week on the podcast we talk about a couple of topics near and dear to our hearts. The first in Goichi Suda, one of the true gaming artists. Transgressive, progressive, and punkish, Suda-san's games are always distinctive and unique, and he is one of the reasons that we continue to love games as much as we do.

We also have a special guest this week; Lachlan Snell is an Aussie indie developer, who specialises in producing Japanese-style visual novels. He's got a kickstarter underway at the moment for Alluna and Brie and the Tentacle Menace, and he joins us to talk about fan service, visual novels, and Japanese games in general.

Digitally Uploaded #16: We're back! Also Final Fantasy, game awards, and more!

We're back! After a couple of months break, we're back and ready to get the Digitally Uploaded podcast kicking again. 

 

Matt S and Alan are back from the original show, and we're now joined by Matt C, one of the DDNet contributors and writers for NZ Gamer, who has come on to lend his wit and Kiwi access to classy the place up a little. Otherwise we're going to be discussing similar things each week, with our usual focus on the Japanese side of gaming. 

 

This week we look at Final Fantasy XV, which is a game every JRPG fan has been looking forward to for years (literally), as well as the Game Awards, and some of our thoughts - and criticisms - of those. Then we also talk about the problem of too many major games being released too close to one another for the industry's health.
